Hosted by the Case Western Reserve University Theater Department, Theater Scholarship Weekend provides prospective actors, directors, playwrights and stage technicians with an opportunity to spend the weekend attending performances on campus, meeting the Theater Department faculty and students, and auditioning or interviewing for full- and partial-tuition scholarships.
Prospective students meet faculty and their overnight hosts Friday at 4 p.m. in the lobby of CWRU's own Eldred Theater. Friday night, students can participate in either a design bash with current scenic and costume designers or an improv session with students in CWRU's MFA Professional Actor Training Program. Saturday morning, prospective students will participate in a question-and-answer session with current CWRU theater students and faculty. Saturday afternoon, they will have the opportunity to audition or present a portfolio as part of our scholarship competition. The weekend is topped off with tickets to the undergraduate production of Black Comedy at Eldred Theater Saturday night.
All meals as well as accommodations Friday and Saturday night with current theater students will be provided.
