Theater Weekend

Theater Weekend offers prospective student performers, directors, designers, technicians and stage managers a chance to be considered for full- and partial-tuition scholarships by performing a monologue or presenting a portfolio for CWRU Theater faculty.

Register in advance to participate in one of our in-person Fall events: October 2-3 or November 13-14.

Theater Weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a meet-and-greet with faculty and students, followed by a workshop as well as a tour of our new state-of-the-art theater, The Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center. Students also have the option of observing theater classes on Friday morning. On Saturday, students will audition and interview for the scholarships in the morning, tour campus and visit the dining hall in the afternoon, and attend a CWRU Department of Theater mainstage production that evening.

Each year, the Case Western Reserve Department of Theater awards four full-tuition scholarships to incoming students who wish to major in theater, and two $10,000 merit scholarships to students who wish to minor in theater or pursue it as an extracurricular.
